This year’s Margaret River Wine Show 2009 has seen local winery Evans & Tate end the year on a high, taking out 11 medals and two trophies for the current release 2006 Evans & Tate The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.

The recently released 2006 Evans & Tate The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was the red wine hit of the night, claiming two of the shows most prestigious trophies for “Best Red Wine of Show” and “Best Cabernet Sauvignon.”

In the last five consecutive vintages alone, Evans & Tate’s The Reserve range has won an astounding 10 trophies and 134 medals.

“This is a fantastic note to end to the year on,” enthused Evans & Tate winemaker, Matthew Byrne.

“Our Evans & Tate The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon has consistently been an exceptional wine and to have this acknowledgement from some of the nation’s best judges is very special. It affirms the stylistic direction we’re taking with our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon and really promotes the strength and unique qualities of this variety from Margaret River,” Matthew added.

The 2006 Evans & Tate The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is currently available with two trophies and seven medals and is a superb partner to the current release 2006 Evans & Tate The Reserve Chardonnay.
